Bark to the Park is a fundraising event (usually in APRIL)where proceeds directly benefit homeless pets in the Midlands. Pet lovers are encouraged to form a walk team or participate on their own to raise money for the homeless pets in the Midlands. A person can register as a “virtual” walker if he or she cannot be present. Interested walkers can register online at www.barktothepark.com for a registration fee of $30 (price in 2015), which includes a walk t-shirt and entry to the after-party and pet activities following the walk. Walk participants who raise donations can win prizes while supporting the mission of Pawmetto Lifeline, a local nonprofit animal rescue. Pawmetto Lifeline’s mission is to end pet overpopulation in the Midlands. The one and a half mile walk is where participating walkers and their pets will “strut their stuff” through downtown Columbia, S.C.
